How words are detected
The converter splits text on spaces, hyphens, underscores, dots and slashes, and also at case changes inside identifiers:
XMLHttpRequest becomes xml ยท http ยท request, and version2Beta becomes version ยท 2 ยท beta.
Punctuation is dropped for programming cases and kept for text cases.
Title Case vs Sentence case
Title Case capitalises the main words and keeps short words such as a, an, the, and, of, in, on lowercase (unless they start the title) โ a common style for headlines. Sentence case capitalises only the first letter of each sentence, as in normal prose.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between camelCase and PascalCase?
Both join words without separators and capitalise each word, but camelCase starts with a lowercase letter (userName) while PascalCase starts with an uppercase letter (UserName).
How are acronyms like URL or HTML handled?
An acronym is treated as one word: โparseHTMLStringโ becomes parse_html_string in snake_case and ParseHtmlString in PascalCase.
Can I convert many variable names at once?
Yes. Put one name per line โ programming cases are applied to each line separately.
Does it work with non-English letters?
Yes. Upper- and lowercase conversions use Unicode rules, so accented letters and Cyrillic, Greek and other alphabets convert correctly.
